Frequently Asked Questions
How far is Eagle Rock from downtown Dallas?
What is your dress code?
Eagle Rock requires that proper attire must be worn at all times on club property. For men, collared shirts and Bermuda length shorts or (golf) slacks will meet this requirement. For ladies, currently fashionable golf attire satisfies this requirement. Short skirts and running outfits do not qualify.
What is your cancellation policy?
We prefer a 24-hour cancellation of tee time reservation, especially in the golf season months.
Is there a twilight rate?
Yes, we do have a twilight rate that goes into effect at 2 pm each day. During the golf season months (April through October), golfers will have time to complete all 18 holes. There is also time to complete all 18 holes during some of the off-season months.
Can I bring my own food and beverage to the course?
The clubhouse provides beverages, including alcohol, as well as some snacks.
Can I wear metal spikes?
Eagle Rock does not allow the use of metal spikes.
How long should it take to play the course?
A round of golf for a foursome at Eagle Rock should take about 4 hours and 24 minutes. This varies depending on cart path restrictions and amount of play on the golf course. For the enjoyment of all of our guests, we expect golfers to pace their play or allow faster groups to play through.
How hot does it get in the summer?
In the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex of Texas, summers are hot and humid with temperatures frequently reaching over 100. There is plenty of drinking water on the golf course. In order to enjoy golf on the hottest days, many of our golfers bring ice chests and soak towels in ice water.
What is Eagle Rock's cart policy?
An electric cart is included with your greens fee. Eagle Rock features a 90 degree rule throughout the year with the exception of inclement weather, and scheduled course maintenance practices. Some of our golfers haul their own carts to use. We do not have facilities for storing a golfer's cart.
How does the course hold up in the summer?
We try to keep Eagle rock in great shape all throughout the year, especially the summer. The turf found on the golf course is a Bermuda grass which thrives in the hot and humid climate of the Southern states. We typically do not overseed in the winter with ryegrass.
What set of tees should I play from?
Eagle Rock offers four (4) sets of tee boxes per hole allowing golfers of all playing levels. Length and challenging greens test the merit of each golfer’s ability.
How long does it take for the greens to return to normal after aeration?
What is over-seeding and what kind of course conditions can I expect
Over-seeding is the planting of Rye grass which will withstand the cooler temperatures of the winter. This process is commonplace for golf courses in the South that host a number of winter tournaments in order to provide plush and favorable playing conditions. After over-seeding, carts are usually restricted to the paths for at least one month. Because this process involves growing new grass, the fairways are a little longer and are watered more than normal. The course will remain in good shape and very playable during a recent over-seed. At this time, Eagle Rock does not overseed for the winter. You are always welcome to ask the golf shop attendant for an update on course conditions prior to scheduling a reservation.
How many acres of land is Eagle Rock built on?
The facility is situated on 183 acres of hills and some flatland. The greens total over 3 acres and the cart paths total 4.5 miles. The golf course features ponds. which act as water hazards on some holes.
Who owns the club?
Eagle Rock is a DBA (Doing Business As) of Giorock Inc., a Texas corporation. The two equal shareholders of Giorock Inc., are Gio Manettas and Rocky Carlson. Both men are active in management of the facility. The course previously was The Summit owned by a single shareholder in a previous corporation. In 2004, Rocky began the purchase of the facility through his corporation Rocky Carlson Enterprises, Inc., and changed the name of the course to Eagle Rock Golf Club. The clubhouse was extended and a full-service bar installed. In 2006, Gio and Rocky formed Giorock to share responsibilities for the establishment. The DBA Eagle Rock Golf Club was transferred from Rocky Carlson Enterprises, Inc., to Giorock, Inc.
